Normally our format is one hour of Plus followed by two hours of Mainstream. However, we changed it up to accommodate our guests. We wanted all of their dancers on the floor as soon as possible, so we went with an every third tip Plus format. That gets tricky sometimes trying to remember what the next tip was, so we posted signs around the hall showing the next tip would be Mainstream or Plus. We got a little extra exercise running around changing the signs at the end of each tip, but the system worked out well. We may sprinkle that format in from time to time just to keep things interesting.
We also had some great Rounds with Connie and Julie cueing. I really enjoy seeing so many couples on the floor and managed to sneak in a few tips myself.
I want to thank all our members who pitched in to help set up before the dance and clean up afterwards. I also want to thank them for taking such good care of our guests. I enjoyed seeing the mixed squares and all the mingling taking place between tips.
We had around 80 people at this dance including members and guests. Besides our special guests from Independence, we also had guests from the Eager Beavers, WaveSteppers, RsquareD, Hayshakers, Tri-Squares and our independent dancers. I want to thank each and every one of you for visiting and hope to see you again soon.
The Valley Squares are hosting a new dancer Jamboree on Sunday, March 15th from 1:30 - 3:30pm at the Aloha Grange. We welcome all clubs and their classes to join us for this B-51 dance. If you cannot make it to our Jamboree and are near Independence, the Wagon Wheelers are celebrating their 55th Anniversary at the same date and time.
