PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Doug Davis was wonderful as our guest caller for our Anniversary dance Friday, April 20 with Plus and Tami Helm cueing and Saturday, April 21 with Mainstream and Connie Clark cueing. Doug’s "bye, bye, bye" call at the Plus dance Friday was fun to perform and his combination of calls fun to execute. Bill Calder commented that he went Bye, Bye, Bye into the next square. Saturday’s Mainstream dance was just as much fun. It was also great to see so many dancer from other clubs, especially the Sunset Promenaders who went dark for our Saturday dance.
Everyone looked marvelous in our Club Outfits. Decorations of the Club Outfits over the years and adding the photos was a wonderful display and fun for everyone to see. I want to thank Darlene and Bill Calder for decorating the dance hall and Bea and Bill Cook for the loan of our past club outfits. We definitely need to use the outfits again.
Wasn’t our Jamboree on Sunday, April 29 great, six squares, woo hoo. Our class members had a wonderful time and so did our club members and our guests. Silver Stars made a fine showing of their new dancers and club members. Chuck kept it fun and everyone moving. Mike Halley and Daryl Clendenin added their voices and style to the dance and Connie, Julie Stiers and Helen Halley contributed to the fun with their cueing. We packed the Pizza Caboose for the after party as well. Great to visit with our class members off the dance floor. Again, I want to thank Darlene and Bill Calder for their great job of decorating the dance hall.
We will be dark on our May 5 dance to attend the Sunset Promenaders "Cinco DeMayo" Anniversary dance with Dan Preedy calling. It’s always fun and exciting to join in and support our fellow TVC clubs when they have a special dance and caller.
See you in a square,
Carolene Ginocchio

62nd ANNIVERSARY DANCE
Valley Squares 62nd Anniversary Dance will be Friday, April 8, 2011 with Mike Sikorsky calling and Connie Clark Cueing at Aloha Grange. The theme is "Swingin' With Mike". We will be selling tickets, limiting them to 160 as we do not wish to overcrowd the hall. $10 each. 7-8 pm will be Plus and Phase III Rounds, 8-10 pm Mainstream and Rounds, open break from 8 to 9:30 pm.
Tickets will be available for Valley Squares members at our December 4 dinner and dance, they are $10 to everyone. We will begin selling them to anyone who comes to our December 18 dance. In January, we will visit all the TVC clubs to sell tickets before opening up sales to other dancers in February. This is going to be hot, I. Thought I would have been trampled if I had had the tickets at TVC meeting on November 22. So Valley Squares, get your tickets now, and I get the first one, jump in line behind me.
At our December dances, we will have a sign up sheet for members along with a list of clubs and their dance dates to sell tickets to the TVC clubs. It would be good to have at least 4 members to help each other when going to the TVC clubs to sell tickets. Sign up, lets get them sold fast then we won’t have to worry about it for too long.
Our Sustaining Members will get in free as they don’t square dance and will help out with the duties and fill in where needed. We will have a list of duties, number of members needed for each position and a sign up sheet available in March.
