PRESIDENT’S CORNER

Welcome to our New Club Members, Poornima Kotian Ashit Patel, Robbie Houghton, Elton White, Inice Stanfill, Lori & Walt Skoczylas, John Riccardi and our returning Member Leeanne Rose. We are very pleased to have you as part of our club, as you have found out, square dancing is fun.

Valley Squares received a thank you note from Karen Martiny and a very nice donation of $50 to the club in memory of Chuck. Thank you Karen, we miss Chuck. The Board will discuss the best way to use the $50 in Chuck’s memory. If anyone has suggestions, please call me.

Anniversary dance with the Wild Cards and Ed,...that was great, lots of lively singing and music. We had visitation from Hoedowners, Toe Draggers, Coast Swingers, Sunset Promenaders, some independents and others I can’t remember without looking. Hoedowners went back with our banner.

This year we have a great class and lots of new members, but we need more, we need at least this many every year, we are not any where near the numbers we were several years ago. So think about who you can invite to our January 4, 2011 class.

We would like to know who is going to the Summer Festival, "Back In the Saddle Again" at Pendleton convention Center. If you haven’t signed up, do so quick before the price goes up on June 15. We have flyers at our dances and hotel information is on the back of the flyer.

Connie Clark will sent out a new Club Roster with our New Members included. Please check for errors in your information and contact Connie for corrections or return her e-mail. If you did not get a new roster, contact Connie.

Duty sign-up has changed this year. Each member needs to sign-up for the dates they want (you will need to sign up for 3 dances to fill the duty list for the year). We want our new members paired with experienced members for Kitchen Duty so they won’t feel lost and overwhelmed.
